At Turbine, we believe the strength of our company comes from our people. We’re a trusted, family-owned building company based in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, and our team is dedicated to delivering homes built on craftsmanship, care, and trust.

Leadership & Experience

With over 20 years of industry experience, Director Shaun Mainwaring leads the team as a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) and Registered Master Builder. Shaun’s sharp attention to detail, passion for building, and commitment to excellence guide every project from concept to completion. By staying closely involved, he ensures every home meets the highest standards of quality.

Not only is Shaun passionate about delivering dream homes, he is equally committed to growing the trade from the ground up. He actively supports apprentices through employment opportunities and was honoured to serve as a judge for the Apprentice of the Year competition in 2021 and 2022. Shaun also dedicated nine years to the Manawatū Registered Master Builders branch committee, five of those as Vice President and President.

This wealth of experience and service to the industry means Shaun brings exceptional value, knowledge, and leadership to the entire building journey, ensuring everyone involved is supported and guided.

Construction Team

Our construction crew is led by Liam Boyle, an Advanced Trade Carpenter and Supervisor. A qualified builder with over 10 years of industry experience, Liam oversees a team of skilled qualified builders and apprentices of all levels, organising site teams of 3–4 depending on the task.

Liam conducts regular site visits across the region, ensuring progress, quality, and support throughout the build process. Known for his forward-thinking approach, he tackles daily challenges with ease and keeps projects moving smoothly. His leadership helps maintain high standards on site while fostering growth and development within the team

Operations & Client Support

Behind the scenes, Melissa manages operations and logistics, streamlining processes so our on-site teams can focus on delivering great results. She works closely with Shaun on budgets and project oversight, helping ensure each build runs efficiently and to plan.

Fiona provides in-house interior design support, guiding clients through colour selections, finishes, and design choices. She also manages the accounts and financial side of the business, keeping everything organised and transparent. For high-end or bespoke builds, Fiona coordinates with leading local interior designers to bring unique visions to life.
